Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer Intern at our Columbia, Missouri location for the Fall 2026 semester. This is a part-time and onsite so the ideal candidate will be located in the general area. No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role. Deployment of tools/material for Quality Fundamentals Customer Satisfaction and Stop Work culture Poka‑Yoke (PY) deployment, validation, and management Ok 1st Part process deployment and workstation alignment Check‑Do‑Check routines and reinforcement of standard work Final Inspection & Temporary Quality Wall (TQW) setup and follow‑through Non‑Conformance Management (red/yellow bin flows, identification, segregation) Rework Under Control — correct execution, traceability, training KATA QRCI practice coaching for rapid response and root‑cause elimination Training & Capability Building Conduct training sessions for operators, leads, and supervisors on: Stop Work PY validation (golden samples / red rabbits) Ok 1st Part execution Check‑Do‑Check Non‑Conformance Management Rework processes Layered Process Audits (LPA) Auditing, Monitoring & Sustainment Perform and facilitate Layered Process Audits (LPAs) to validate process conformance. Support the Quality Fundamentals Self‑Assessment and prepare improvement plans. Conduct regular walkthroughs (“Gemba”) to identify abnormalities, gaps to standards, and behavioral adherence. This job might be for you if you have: Undergraduate degree/Higher education (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic) Experience within manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent Experience with 8D problem solving methodology, tool utilization (ie. 5Why, fishbone (cause and effect), etc) Six Sigma knowledge, experience, certification highly desired Demonstrated analytical skills with data, problem resolution, project management Excellent skills in leadership, communication both verbal and written, and attention to detail Let us learn about you!
