We Are Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow. You Are You have spent time working at the intersection of optical systems and automotive engineering, and you know that the future of ADAS, autonomous driving, and next-generation sensing depends on getting the simulation right before the hardware ever hits the road. You understand the physics behind cameras, LiDAR, HUD, and lighting systems well enough to debug a sensor integration issue or explain why a virtual prototype is showing artifacts a real-world engineer would actually care about. You are comfortable sitting with an automotive OEM engineering team, understanding their sensor validation challenges, and walking out with a proof of concept plan that demonstrates real value in weeks, not months. You do not just run simulations, you think about how AI and automation can compress development cycles and make design exploration faster and smarter. You have worked with tools like Zemax, Speos, or AVx. You can script in Python or MATLAB to automate workflows. You know what a real-time operating system looks like in an automotive context, and you have debugged hardware-software integration issues that required both optical knowledge and systems thinking. At Synopsys, you will work directly with automotive customers solving real problems in optical simulation, sensor performance, and AI-driven engineering workflows. What You'll Be Doing - Support automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers through pre-sales and post-sales technical engagements, demonstrating how simulation reduces development cycles and accelerates innovation in optical systems, ADAS, and autonomous driving platforms - Build and demonstrate AI-assisted workflows that integrate simulation, data analytics, and automation to improve design validation, sensor performance evaluation, and system-level optimization - Develop proof of concept projects for customer applications across exterior and interior lighting, camera systems, HUD, LiDAR, and next-generation sensing technologies - Lead technical trainings, workshops, and customer seminars focused on automotive optical simulation methodologies, virtual prototyping, and sensor characterization - Create technical documentation, best-practice guidelines, application notes, and localized marketing materials including webinars, blogs, and release communications tailored to automotive use cases - Contribute to technical papers, conference presentations, and industry publications that advance simulation methodologies in automotive optical and sensing applications - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to explore how AI/ML and agentic AI technologies can enhance engineering productivity and decision-making workflows The Impact You Will Have - You will help automotive customers compress product development timelines by proving simulation value in real-world optical and sensor design challenges - Your proof of concept work will directly influence customer adoption of advanced simulation tools and AI-driven engineering workflows across leading OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers - The technical trainings and workshops you lead will enable engineering teams to adopt best practices in virtual prototyping, sensor validation, and system optimization - Your AI-assisted workflows will demonstrate measurable improvements in simulation efficiency, design exploration speed, and validation accuracy - The technical content you create will position Synopsys as a thought leader in automotive optical simulation and AI-enhanced engineering - Your contributions to technical papers and industry presentations will shape how the automotive industry approaches optical system design and ADAS sensor development - You will bridge the gap between simulation technology and real-world automotive engineering challenges, making complex tools accessible and valuable to customers What You'll Need - Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, or a related engineering discipline - 1 to 3 years of industrial experience in automotive optical system development including cameras, LiDAR, HUD, HMI displays, interior monitoring systems, automotive lighting, or ADAS and autonomous driving platforms - Hands-on experience with optical simulation and design tools such as Zemax, Speos, or AVx, with strong fundamentals in optics and photonics - Experience in integration, testing, and evaluation of automotive sensors including cameras, radars, LiDARs, and ultrasonic sensors, including software-hardware integration and system bring-up - Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for workflow automation and simulation customization - Working level English skills for technical communication with global teams and customers - Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external customers, translating technical complexity into actionable solutions Who You Are - You can walk into a customer meeting, understand their sensor validation challenge, and sketch out a simulation approach that addresses their specific pain point without overcomplicating the solution - You are comfortable working across the stack, from optical physics and sensor characterization to scripting automation and AI-assisted workflows, without losing sight of what the customer actually needs - You do not wait for perfect information to start a proof of concept, you work with what you have, ask the right questions, and iterate quickly based on feedback - You can explain a complex optical simulation result to an automotive engineer in terms they care about, like sensor performance under different lighting conditions or LiDAR range accuracy, without burying them in theory - You stay current with emerging technologies like generative AI, digital twins, and synthetic data generation, and you think about how these tools can solve real automotive engineering problems - You are organized enough to manage multiple customer engagements, technical documentation projects, and training sessions simultaneously while keeping quality high The Team You'll Be Part Of Your recruiter will share more about the team structure and mission during the interview process. Rewards and Benefits We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process. #AnsysJob
