Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead, Software Engineer with a desire to work in a cooperative team environment with cross functional teams to develop and verify embedded software applications through the entire software development life cycle. This position will utilize a strong base of engineering principles, theories, and techniques, and a passion for relevant new technologies.
You and your team will be involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle, which encompasses refining specifications, implementing software, integration, debugging, and comprehensive documentation. This role involves implementing software solutions for Modems, RF Transmission Systems, and Satellite Communication Systems in a real-time, multi-threaded environment.
The successful candidate will be capable of leading teams, working autonomously, and collaborating effectively with internal and external customers to accomplish the overarching goals of the project to design and implement software solutions that adhere to coding protocols and technical specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and lead the design and implementation of embedded software solutions through the software development lifecycle, which includes use case development, requirements analysis, object-oriented analysis & design, implementation and unit test, integration, requirements verification, and operations and maintenance of software systems.
- Provide technical support for bid/proposal efforts
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis.
- Prepare and present briefings/workshops/tutorials for supported engineers, management, customers, and intra-company working groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively with program team and stakeholders with regards to status, milestones, and risks.
- Participate in Agile software planning and development.
- Collaborate with Systems, Electrical/Firmware, and RF engineers to ensure design and implementation meet customer requirements.
- Cost account management
- Candidate must be able to obtain a US security clearance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
· 7+ years of C/C++ embedded software development experience.
· EVMS/CAM experience
· Inter-process communication and multi-threaded programming experience.
· Experience with Atlassian tool suite.
· Experience with Agile software development methodology.
· Proficiency in C++, C software development in a multi-threaded Windows or Linux environment.
· Experience with Agile software development.
· Experience with real-time Linux development.
· Experience with CMake.
· Experience with Wireshark and ability to analyze network traffic.
· Experience in cross-functional software support.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- SATCOM experience
- VHDL/FPGA design and verification experience.
- Experience with MagicDraw UML.
- Experience with Doxygen.
- Experience with Linux systems and network programming
- Experience with ARM processors, Xilinx Zynq
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
- Experience in CMA architectures, SNMP, RS232/RS485 serial comm.
