The Fleet Associate Leader is responsible for leading all aspects of fleet operations, including vehicle procurement, maintenance, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, budget management, and fleet lifecycle planning. This role ensures the organization maintains a safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet while delivering exceptional support to internal stakeholders and driving operational excellence across the business. Responsibilities As a Fleet Associate Leader, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet operation that supports business growth, customer deliveries, and employee transportation needs. This position combines strategic fleet planning, vendor management, budget oversight, and operational excellence to maximize fleet performance and efficiency. Fleet Operations & Optimization Oversee the day-to-day management of the company fleet to ensure vehicle availability, reliability, and operational readiness. Develop and implement fleet strategies that support business objectives while optimizing utilization and minimizing downtime. Monitor fleet performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Vendor & Contract Management Lead sourcing initiatives and evaluate vehicle offerings from multiple manufacturers and suppliers. Negotiate competitive pricing, service agreements, and procurement contracts to deliver the best value for the organization. Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, service providers, and leasing partners to ensure high-quality support and service delivery. Fleet Maintenance & Compliance Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure fleet safety, compliance, and peak performance. Coordinate repair activities with service providers and monitor the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of all maintenance work. Ensure accurate maintenance records and compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. Financial Management & Cost Control Oversee fleet-related expenditures, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, fuel, tires, and service contracts. Track and analyze monthly fleet expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies. Partner with Finance to ensure timely processing of payments and effective budget management. Develop and manage the annual fleet operating plan (AOP) and long-term fleet investment strategies. Fleet Lifecycle Management Drive fleet replacement and renewal initiatives based on vehicle age, performance, maintenance history, and operational requirements. Conduct analyses and provide recommendations regarding leasing, purchasing, and vehicle utilization strategies. Manage the disposition of aging or underutilized assets while maximizing return on investment. Stakeholder Support & Service Excellence Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet users, ensuring prompt resolution of transportation and maintenance needs. Maintain accurate fleet records, reporting, and documentation to support informed decision-making. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless fleet support across the organization. Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,600 - $123,150. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications A Fleet Manager must possess a high level of skill in the following areas: High School Diploma Required 5-8 Years experience in mechanical or equipment engineering, logistics and transportation Strong negotiation skills.
